Del Río International Airport is located in Val Verde County, two miles northwest of Del Río, Texas. Its usefulness is centered on general aviation. The airport reached 15,357 aircraft operations in 2010: 83% general aviation, 9% airline and 8% air taxi.  The airport belongs to the city of Del Río. Seven members of the airport advisory board supervise and manage all operations and development of the place. The FAA classified the airport as a primary commercial non-hub airport.

In terms of transportation, there is a bus route that runs through the city, passing through the main areas, including Del Río International Airport. The city’s transportation program uses 18 vehicles six days a week for the elderly, disabled and the general public of the community, and provides medical transportation services in the city and outside of it from Monday to Friday.

There is also a fixed transportation route provided by the Department of Transportation of the City Del Río. The fixed route consists of 24 different stops that pass through the entire city, including most medical facilities, social service agencies and major retail centres. The fixed route begins to operate from 6:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The local transportation fee for the elderly and disabled (55 years or older) is $ 1.50 per trip. For the general public, the fee is $ 2.50 per trip except those under 3 years, they travel free, but the passenger must provide a safety seat. There is a possibility of leaving the city by bus, the destinations are San Antonio, San Angelo, Eagle Pass and Uvalde. It is possible to ask for a taxi at the airport. There are also taxis touring the city during the day.  There is the Amtrak train that goes through the city to San Antonio and El paso.

From Del Rio International Airport to Laredo

There are several ways to get to Laredo from the city Del Río. Here we give you the main routes:

1) Take the train at the Del Rio Arkam station and head towards the San Antonio Arkam station. Take a bus in Commerce & Bowie and head to Commerce & Persa. Finally, take a bus from San Antonio station and head towards Laredo station.
(Travel time: 8 hours)
– The train departs 6 times a week.
– The bus in Commerce & Bowie departs every 30 minutes.
– The bus from San Antonio departs every hour.

2) Take a bus from Grayhound USA station to San Antonio station. At the San Antonio station, take a bus to Laredo.
(Travel time: 7:30 hours)
– The bus from Del Rio to San Antonio departs 4 times a day.
– The bus from San Antonio departs every hour.

3) If you go by car this is the fastest route
-Access Dr Fermin Calderon Blvd from E Garfield St and E Ogden St.
-Take US-277 S and US-83 S toward Santa Ursula Ave in Laredo.
-Take Houston St towards Matamoros St.

From Del Rio International Airport to Eagle Pass


There are two main routes to go to eagle pass:

1) Take a bus from Grayhound USA station in Del Río to Eagle Pass station.

2) If you go by car this is the fastest route
-Access Dr Fermin Calderon Blvd from E Garfield St and E Ogden St.
-Take US-277 S toward Del Rio Blvd in Eagle Pass.
-Continue on Del Rio Blvd toward N Ceylon St. until you reach Eagle Pass
